We are passionate about keeping you, your family, and our beautiful environment happy and healthy. That’s why we’ve made the commitment to choose eco-friendly products and processes.
Potential environmental hazards
Traditional paints contain chemicals and substances that can cause damage to humans and animals as well as the environment. What’s more, improper painting and disposal processes can lead to the contamination of water bodies and habitats.
We ensure that none of these potential environmental hazards come to fruition by imposing strict eco-conscious standards on all products, processes, and work sites.
Low VOC paints
We understand that your family’s health is of paramount importance, and paint can make up about 70 percent of indoor pollutants. That’s why we have taken the initiative to use paints that are low in Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) when possible. Paints with high levels of VOC include oil-based paints such as polyurethane coatings and enamel.
The benefits of having your home painted with low VOC paints include:
- Little to no smell
- Minimised air pollution
- Safer paint fumes that are unlikely to irritate the eyes, nose, or throat
The use of low VOC paint is especially beneficial to those that suffer from asthma or are particularly sensitive to hydrocarbon vapours.
Proper disposal of paint
Paint doesn’t last forever and will eventually turn into hazardous waste. We dispose of paint in one of two ways:
- If we have less than 4cm of paint left , we leave it out to dry and then recycle the tin.
- If we have a substantial amount of paint left, we do not dispose of it in the recycle or garbage bin. The chemicals and solvents in the paint could potentially harm the environment. Instead, we recycle paint at a dedicated recycling centre.
