We suggested that, instead of rendering the home, we’d paint directly on the bricks. Belinda agreed, and settled on a stunning grey shade for the bricks, Dulux Timeless Grey. Trims were painted with half-strength Dulux Lexicon.
To achieve a smooth result, we first washed all surfaces with a 30-second commercial-grade cleaner. This removed all grime, mould, and dirt. We then filled any large gaps and applied one coat of Dulux Acra Primer – this helped us create a true-to-colour finish. We applied two top coats of Dulux Weathershield in low sheen to extend the lifespan of the paint.
To reach the higher areas of the home, our team used trestles and planks with a handrail – this was a fantastic alternative to scaffolding.
We maintained daily communication with Belinda to ensure minimal disruption. And we used large drop sheets to protect pathways, garden beds, and outdoor furniture.
